Michel Walter

Michel Walter studied jurisprudence at the Universities of Vienna, Munich and Paris, and was a research scholar at the Max Planck Institute for foreign and international patent, copyright and competition law in Munich for several years. He also completed a training in music and stage and has professional experience in these fields. Michel Walter initially worked as a judge. Since 1969 he is a lawyer and author of specialised literature in Vienna. He teaches at the High School of Economics in Vienna (computer law), the High School of Applied Art in Vienna and the High School of Music and the Performing Arts, "Mozarteum", in Salzburg (copyright and law of contract). Michel Walter is a court-appointed expert, a member of the Arbiter Office at the Federal Ministry of Justice, and Vice-President of the Austrian Administrative Group of the Association littéraire et artistique internationale (ALAI). Numerous publications, especially on national and international copyright and international private law as well as several lectures at special meetings and seminars, have established his reputation as an expert in the copyright sector.
